Description:

Day 1 After your arrival at Bucharest Int Henry Coanda Airport we arrange the transfer to Hotel Hilton Garden Inn Old Town,4*, or similar, (2 nights) located in the city center, followed by dinner in the old town in a traditional Romanian Restaurant.

Day 2 Starts with a half day city tour, where we visit the Palace of Parliament, (1,5 h guided tour), the Christian Orthodox Church of the Patriarchy, the Unknown soldiers grave in the Carol Park. We continue with Ceausescu Family residence “Spring Palace”. Our tour will end with lunch in a restaurant or garden terrace where you will get the chance to taste local delicates and drink the local beer. Free time during the afternoon for shopping. On Thursdays or Friday’s evenings you can attend a concert at the Romanian Atheneum.

Day 3 We depart north towards Sibiu, Transylvania. Driving time is about 3 hours, with breathtaking sites of the Carpathian Mountains in the Olt Valley. On the route we do several stops, including the 15th Century Cozia Monastery. Upon arrival in Sibiu, we will visit the outdoor ethnographic museum of ASTRA, then check into Hotel Golden Tulip,4*, (2 nights), Sibiu. Free time during the afternoon followed by dinner at the hotel on the Roof top Panoramic Restaurant 12th floor.

Day 4 Breakfast and a walking tour of the Old Town in Sibiu, then continue to the rural village of Sibiel. On route stop and see the Christian village Saxon fortifiend church from the 15th century, Zosilma Glass Icons Museum, then have lunch in a rural pension, off the beathen path, where we enjoy the hospitality of a local shepards family.

DAY 5 We depart for Sighisoara. After a 2-hour drive, we arrive in one of Europe’s oldest and best-preserved medieval fortresses with houses more than 300 years old still inhabited. It is also one of our Unesco world heritage sites. We do a walking tour of the fortress, which includes passing by the house where Vlad Tepes, “Dracula” was born and lived.

A walk to the top of the hill will take us to the “Church on the Hill” where we get to visit the crypt with 60 tombs. Lunch in Sighisoara, then continue our trip to Brasov. On route a walking stop at Rupea fortress. Evening check into Hotel Armatti, 3*, (2 nights) city center, Brasov.

Day 6 We depart towards Bran, where after a 1-hour drive visit Bran / “Dracula’s” Castle. The Bran village is perfect to buy local souvenirs from Romania at very good prices. Lunch in Bran and you have the afternoon free to walk around the old town of Brasov.

Day 7 Walking tour of the Center of Brasov, the Black Church after which we drive to Sinaia and visit Peles Royal Palace. Afternoon lunch in Sinaia.

We return to Bucharest to the same hotel you stayed initially. (Hotel Hilton Garden Inn Old Town, or similar). Farewell dinner in “Caru cu Bere”.

Day 8 Breakfast and transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
